Growing with Your Pediatric Patients

With An Chih (Angela) Do, RDH, MEd, MAADH

Course Description:

This presentation is designed to provide attendees with an overview of a comprehensive guide on taking care of pediatric patients throughout their years of life. According to the Center for Disease Control, a large proportion of children aged 2-19 have experienced dental caries, making it essential to prioritize oral care for this age group. The presentation will cover a range of topics related to pediatric oral health, including oral conditions, orofacial trauma, caries risk assessment, prevention, and home care. It will also address common barriers to proper oral care, such as misconceptions about the role of primary teeth or fear of the dentist, and provide tips on communicating effectively with pediatric patients. The presentation will explore how the structure of a dental visit can impact the outcome for pediatric patients and provide attendees with the tools and knowledge they need to achieve the best results for their patients.

At the conclusion of this course the participant will be able to:

  • Identify oral conditions and orofacial traumas with pediatric patients
