Dental Assistant Needed for Midtown Comprehensive Dental Practice

The Role

Aesthetic Dentistry of Manhattan is in search of a Dental Assistant to become an integral part of our dental care team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our dental professionals and ensuring our patients receive top-notch care. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in dental assistance or a related field, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional patient experiences.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist Dental Professionals
Provide chairside assistance to dentists during patient examinations and treatments, demonstrating proficiency in 4-handed dentistry.
Sterilize and prepare dental instruments for procedures.
Maintain a thorough understanding of infection control as it relates to cleaning and preparing dental operatories before and after dental procedures.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
Patient Care
Prepare the entire office for patient care in the morning, ensuring all treatment rooms are fully supplied, stocked, and ready for patient appointments.
Escort patients to and from the treatment area.
Take and record patient medical histories and vital signs.
Take x-rays as needed for patient care.
Delegated Tasks
Perform intra-oral scanning and take clinical photos for clear aligners.
Place attachments for clear aligners.
Perform in-office whitening procedures.
Fabricate temporary crowns.
Oversee and execute 3D printing tasks.
Fabricate custom bleaching trays.
Administrative Support
Manage patient records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
Track lab cases meticulously to ensure timely delivery of patient care based on the receipt of lab cases.
Office Organization
Maintain cleanliness and order in the dental office.
Manage inventory and order dental supplies as needed.
Collaboration with Dental Team
Work closely with dental professionals, hygienists, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:
Dental Assistant Certification: Completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a dental assistant.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Organization: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Patient-Centric: Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and comfort.
Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
X-ray Certification: Preferred but not required.
