Course Description:
As dental professionals, we are wired with the desire to make an impact in our community, but often do not know where to begin. This course will provide the learner with strategies for implementing community outreach initiatives. It will also educate the learner on the variety of public health settings and ways to combat disparities. As well as barriers facing the community and providers seeking to make an impact. Included in this course are examples of outreach initiatives implemented to address disparities such as disabilities, geographical barriers, language, cost, and low health literacy. We will also discuss grant writing strategies and funding initiatives. The learner will be given the tools to initiate their own outreach program and support community initiatives.
