Interview Bootcamp: Preparing New Dental Professionals for Confident Career Transitions
Hosted in partnership with BloomRDH
Real-world mentorship for dental professionals navigating what comes after graduation.
Course Description
You landed the interview—now what?
Interviews can feel intimidating when you’re entering the dental workforce for the first time, especially when you’re trying to figure out what to say, what to ask, what a working interview actually means, and whether an office is truly the right fit.
This interactive Interview Bootcamp is designed to help new dental professionals walk into the hiring process feeling prepared, confident, and ready to advocate for themselves. We’ll break down common interview questions, working interviews, job shadows, salary conversations, and the red and green flags that can help you evaluate an opportunity beyond simply getting an offer.
Through real-world examples and practical strategies, participants will learn how to communicate their value, ask better questions, and make career decisions with greater clarity and confidence.
What to Expect
This is an interactive mentorship session, not a traditional lecture. Cameras will be on and participation is encouraged.
Bring your interview questions, job-search concerns, or even a situation you’re currently navigating. This is your opportunity to practice, ask questions, hear real-world advice, and get personalized guidance before your next interview.
Can’t attend every session? No problem. You’re welcome to join any session that works for you, and the mentorship series repeats regularly, so you’ll have another opportunity to catch topics you miss.
What You’ll Walk Away With
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Recognize common dental interview formats and questions and develop confident, professional responses.
- Demonstrate effective communication during interviews, working interviews, and job shadows.
- Identify workplace red flags and green flags when evaluating whether an office aligns with personal and professional goals.
- Apply practical negotiation strategies when discussing compensation, benefits, scheduling, and workplace expectations.
About the Mentorship Program
Dental hygiene school prepares you to become a clinician—but some of the hardest parts of entering the profession can only be learned through experience.
Created for students, recent graduates, and dental professionals looking for additional support, this live mentorship series tackles the real-world situations that aren’t always covered in school. Led by Kim Augustus, RDH and founder of BloomRDH, sessions explore topics like workplace communication, confidence, interviews, career decisions, boundaries, difficult situations, and navigating your first years in practice.
Think of it as the guidance you wish came with your diploma.
Meet Your Mentor
Kimberly Augustus, RDH, is the founder of BloomRDH and a dental hygienist with more than a decade of clinical experience and nearly 10 years in dental education.
After recognizing how many new hygienists leave school clinically prepared but still feel uncertain navigating the realities of professional life, Kim created BloomRDH to help bridge that gap. Through mentorship, education, and honest conversations about the profession, she helps dental hygiene students and new professionals build confidence, advocate for themselves, and navigate their careers with greater clarity.
Her goal is simple: to make sure new hygienists don’t have to figure everything out alone.
