Real-world mentorship for dental professionals navigating what comes after graduation.

Course Description

Going from a 3-hour student appointment to a packed private-practice schedule can feel like a huge jump.

Suddenly, you’re expected to take radiographs, review medical history, complete assessments, provide patient education, deliver high-quality care, document everything—and somehow stay on time.

This interactive mentorship session is designed to help dental professionals become more efficient without feeling like they have to rush through patient care. We’ll break down practical ways to structure your appointment, prioritize what matters most, recover when you fall behind, and build routines that make your day feel more manageable.

Whether you’re preparing to enter private practice or already finding yourself watching the clock all day, you’ll leave with realistic strategies to help you work more confidently, efficiently, and calmly.

What to Expect

This is an interactive mentorship session, not a traditional lecture. Cameras will be on and participation is encouraged.

Come prepared with questions about appointment flow, time management, difficult schedules, or situations where you regularly find yourself falling behind. This is your opportunity to troubleshoot real-life challenges and learn strategies you can actually use in practice.

Can’t attend every session? No problem. You’re welcome to join any session that works for you, and the mentorship series repeats regularly, so you’ll have another opportunity to catch topics you miss.

What You’ll Walk Away With

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe common scheduling and productivity expectations within private-practice hygiene.
  • Apply practical time-management strategies to improve appointment flow and stay on schedule.
  • Prioritize clinical responsibilities while maintaining quality patient care within real-world time constraints.
  • Develop repeatable systems and routines that improve efficiency and reduce stress throughout the clinical day.

About the Mentorship Program

Dental hygiene school prepares you to become a clinician—but some of the hardest parts of entering the profession can only be learned through experience.

Created for students, recent graduates, and dental professionals looking for additional support, this live mentorship series tackles the real-world situations that aren’t always covered in school. Led by Kim Augustus, RDH and founder of BloomRDH, sessions explore topics like workplace communication, confidence, interviews, career decisions, boundaries, difficult situations, and navigating your first years in practice.

Think of it as the guidance you wish came with your diploma.

Meet Your Mentor

Kimberly Augustus, RDH, is the founder of BloomRDH and a dental hygienist with more than a decade of clinical experience and nearly 10 years in dental education.

After recognizing how many new hygienists leave school clinically prepared but still feel uncertain navigating the realities of professional life, Kim created BloomRDH to help bridge that gap. Through mentorship, education, and honest conversations about the profession, she helps dental hygiene students and new professionals build confidence, advocate for themselves, and navigate their careers with greater clarity.

Her goal is simple: to make sure new hygienists don’t have to figure everything out alone.
