Understanding cultural diversity is crucial to providing equitable dental care. Skills learned from this course are essential for providing the highest level of patient care.

Course Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Define implicit bias and cultural competency
  • Identify skills to increase cultural competency
  • Recognize ways implicit bias is managed in a dental office

About the Presenter:

Diane Mullins, RDH, MS, CDIPC has over 25 years of dental experience which includes dental assisting, clinical hygiene, and education. Overall health and wellness have always been a passion of Diane’s where she can help others. Since the loss of her brother to suicide, Diane is passionate about bringing suicide awareness and prevention strategies to the dental community. Diane speaks on various topics related to mental and physical health, infection control, and suicide prevention. She obtained certifications in Dental Infection and Prevention Control and Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention Training.
