Case acceptance for scaling and root planing doesn’t happen by luck, it’s built on clinical confidence, strategic communication, and patient trust. In this energizing course, dental hygienists will uncover the “secret sauce” behind consistently getting patients to say yes to periodontal treatment. Learn how to present SRP as a critical health service, not just a procedure, and walk away with real-world scripts, objection-handling strategies, and tools to track your diagnostic-to-treatment conversion success.
Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Explain the key components of effective SRP case presentation, including how to align clinical findings with personalized patient education to increase treatment acceptance.
- Apply communication techniques and scripting strategies that improve patient understanding, address objections, and drive conversion from SRP diagnosis to scheduled treatment.
About the Presenter:
Nichelle Venable started her career in dental as an oral surgery assistant. She quickly learned that dentistry was her passion and decided to pursue her dental hygiene licensure. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at the College of Southern Nevada in 2010 with her Associate in Dental Hygiene and later received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2019. In 2020, Nichelle became a delegate for the Nevada Dental Hygienist’s Association. In 2021, Nichelle was elected President of the Nevada Dental Hygienists’ Association. During her term, she advocated and participated in community outreach programs and raised funds for the Institute of Oral Health. She also donated supplies and funds to local public health organizations throughout the community.
In 2022, she became the Specialty Regional Manager for Pacific Dental services. She currently manages 39 periodontic programs and 45 dental hygiene programs in the Las Vegas region. Her current role is to ensure the highest standard of care for all patients, while providing coaching, continuing education, and financial reporting for over 45 practices. She recently founded The RDH Humanitarian Project non-profit organization whose mission is to increases access to care in underserved communities. Nichelle’s vision is to elevate the dental hygiene role through education and continue to advocate for access to oral health care for all.
