Position Overview

The Dental Hygienist plays a central role in the patient experience at Smile Studio of Spring Lake — serving as a trusted clinician, patient educator, and key member of our tight-knit clinical team. This position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, integrity, and a genuine commitment to elevating every patient’s oral health and overall experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough prophylaxis, periodontal therapy, and supportive periodontal maintenance
• Conduct comprehensive periodontal assessments, charting, and oral cancer screenings
• Take digital X-rays and intraoral photos, and document findings accurately in Dentrix
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and preventive care in a warm, unhurried manner
• Collaborate closely with Dr. Scheddin to support seamless clinical flow and co-diagnosis
• Answer phones and assist with scheduling, managing appointments with professionalism and warmth
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, infection control, and patient confidentiality
• Contribute to a calm, refined, and welcoming environment that reflects the Smile Studio standard

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RDH license in good standing required
• 2+ years of clinical hygiene experience preferred
• Experience with Dentrix strongly preferred
• Exceptional chairside manner, patient communication, and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable answering phones and scheduling patients in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
• Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Honest, ethical, and trustworthy with patient care and clinical information
• Comfortable working independently in a solo-doctor private practice and as part of a close-knit team

Schedule

• Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
