We are seeking a skilled and caring dental hygienist to join a well-established dental practice that offers a blend of comprehensive general dentistry, specialty periodontal care, and personalized private-practice service. For over sixteen years, our team has earned a stellar reputation built on patient trust, clear communication, and a strong commitment to prevention, education, and high-quality care for patients of all ages.
This is a full-time opportunity, with the option for part-time or temp-to-perm consideration. The ideal candidate is someone who values a family-like atmosphere, enjoys working with a loyal patient base, and takes pride in delivering attentive, evidence-based hygiene care. Our practice is fully digital and uses Dentrix and DEXIS software, with a strong emphasis on efficient workflow, accurate documentation, and excellent patient communication.
In this role, you will provide one-on-one patient care and perform a variety of clinical hygiene services, including calculus removal, hand scaling, fluoride treatment, gingivitis screening and treatment, oral cancer and oral pathology screening, periodontal therapy, prophylaxis, pediatric hygiene, treatment planning, and special needs patient care. Strong skills in dental charting, patient education, vital signs monitoring, sterile procedures, patient records, x-rays, and periodontal maintenance are essential. Local anesthesia proficiency is required, along with excellent clinical judgment and a gentle, thorough approach.
Our patients are accustomed to hand scaling, and precision is important. In cases with minimal probing depth, ultrasonic use may be appropriate to lavage tissues, open the sulcus, and remove stain; however, every tooth must be scaled on every surface, including subgingival areas, while preserving root structure. We value careful instrumentation and attention to detail. If a patient prefers polishing paste without dye or fluoride, Closys toothpaste is available.
The schedule includes one patient at a time, with typical appointment times of 50 minutes for established general adult visits, 60 minutes for new patients, 70–90 minutes for periodontal maintenance, and 60 minutes for SCRP appointments. A 60-minute lunch break is provided. Off-street parking is available in front of the office. PPE includes disposable gowns, nitrile gloves, and regular masks.
If you have at least 1 year of experience and are ready to contribute to a supportive, patient-centered team, we encourage you to explore this opportunity. For questions, please contact 203-775-6167 or office@drmorelli.com.
