ROLE
Performs the usual and customary procedures for a Dental assistant while promoting a safe environment of minimal stress. In addition to taking xrays, employees must maintain an aseptic work area, be organized and self-motivated, coordinate patient flow with front and back offices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately maintains patient records and charts to ensure easy retrieval and complete documentation of all patient treatment and transactions.
Know how to perio chart
Properly seat patients for hygiene promptly
Accurately take all the x-rays prior to hygienist walking in
Consistently and accurately prebook Hygiene & Treatment appts
Be present in every exam & Assist as needed
Communicated effectively & professionally with team
Accurately and properly chart all existing
Support on keeping the Hygienist on time
Communicate effectively with hygiene liaison
Properly update pending treatment
Assist with helping sterilization
Stay busy and help other team members as needed * Take initiative
Communicate to doctors if patients are waiting for exam & assure they are aware
Communicate to hygienist when patients are ready
Hand off any information from the Dr to hygienist
Main point of contact between the hygienist and team
Walk patients up & hand off to admin team
In Hand off include what was done today, who did exam, if treatment is scheduled & if next hygiene visit is scheduled or if admin needs to schedule
Participates fully in staff development through morning huddles, staff meetings, continuing education courses, and evaluations.
Promotes team cohesiveness by interacting with team members using common courtesy, active listening skills, respect, and non-judgmental attitude.
Consistently and accurately reviews and documents any changes in each patient’s dental and medical history at each visit.
Clearly, kindly, and professionally communicates with the patients and demonstrates a high degree of sensitivity to all patient concerns to ensure patient comfort and confidence with the hygienist.
Any additional duties deemed necessary by direct report.
