Position overview
We're hiring a full-time Registered Dental Hygienist at $65/hour plus production incentives, with medical (70% of premiums covered), HSA, 401(k) match and 2 weeks of PTO.

Mon–Wed 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Thu 7:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

About the practice
LifeSmiles Family Dentistry is a comprehensive family practice at 8100 Penn Ave S in Bloomington, welcoming patients of all ages. We keep care in-house wherever we can, including periodontal scaling, root canal therapy and implants, supported by digital x-rays, panoramic imaging and cone beam CT.
Dr. Robbie Huot, DDS.
Dr. Huot earned his dental degree at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and has added training in root canal therapy, oral surgery and implant placement, so patients can complete complex treatment with a dentist they already trust. His philosophy is that the dental chair should never be something to dread: he explains options in plain language, never rushes, and makes sure every patient feels comfortable and in control. He and his wife are raising three young boys, which makes him a natural with nervous kids. He's proud to be rooted in Minnesota and caring for families in his own community.
We're a small, close-knit team that invests in ongoing education and runs the day, rather than letting the day run us.

Responsibilities
• Provide prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance for patients of all ages
• Complete periodontal charting, probing and assessments; document findings accurately in the patient record
• Take and evaluate digital radiographs, including bitewings, full-mouth series and panoramic images
• Perform oral cancer screenings and review medical histories and vitals at each visit
• Apply fluoride, sealants and desensitizing agents; place local anesthetic and nitrous oxide within Minnesota scope of practice
• Educate patients on home care, nutrition and the link between oral and overall health
• Co-diagnose with Dr. Huot and present recommended treatment clearly and confidently
• Help keep the schedule productive: identify unscheduled treatment, recare due dates and same-day opportunities
• Follow OSHA, infection-control and HIPAA standards; sterilize instruments and maintain the operatory
• Collaborate with the front office and assistants for smooth handoffs and an on-time day

Qualifications
Required
• Graduate of a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program
• Active, unrestricted Minnesota Registered Dental Hygienist license
• Minnesota Board of Dentistry local anesthesia and nitrous oxide certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong communication skills and a calm, caring chairside manner

Preferred
• 1+ year of clinical hygiene experience (new graduates are welcome to apply)
• Experience with digital radiography and practice-management software
• Comfort presenting treatment and discussing insurance basics with patients

Compensation and benefits
Base pay: $65/hour
