We are currently seeking a Lead Dental Assistant who is experienced, dependable, organized, and confident in helping manage the clinical flow of a busy dental practice. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in patient care, understands the importance of teamwork, and is ready to lead by example.
Position Overview
As the Lead Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the doctors, guiding the clinical team, maintaining daily efficiency, and ensuring patients receive excellent care from the moment they are seated through the completion of treatment.
This position requires someone who is clinically skilled, highly organized, proactive, and comfortable helping oversee back-office systems, supplies, sterilization, patient flow, and team accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting doctors chairside during a variety of dental procedures
Supporting efficient patient flow throughout the clinical day
Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring all necessary materials and instruments are ready
Taking digital X-rays, intraoral photos, impressions/scans, and other diagnostic records as needed
Reviewing treatment needs and helping patients feel comfortable and informed
Maintaining proper sterilization protocols and infection control standards
Monitoring clinical supplies, ordering materials, and helping control inventory
Coordinating with the front office to keep the schedule running smoothly
Helping train, support, and guide other dental assistants
Ensuring operatories, lab areas, sterilization, and clinical spaces remain clean, organized, and fully stocked
Assisting with lab cases, equipment maintenance, and daily clinical readiness
Promoting a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous dental assisting experience required
Lead dental assistant or supervisory experience preferred
Strong understanding of chairside assisting, sterilization, clinical flow, and dental procedures
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Confidence in helping direct clinical flow and support the team
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-first mindset
Attention to detail and ability to anticipate doctor and patient needs
Experience with dental software, especially Eaglesoft, is a plus
Current dental assistant registration/certification as required by Texas law
