We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. *SPANISH SPEAKING BI-LINGUAL REQUIRED* The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional patient care, maintaining high standards of infection control, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental team. Knowledge of Open Dental, dental terminology, and records management is essential for success in this position.
Duties
-Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, while adhering to ADA standard techniques and infection control protocols.
-Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current medications, ensuring accurate documentation.
-Assist with chairside procedures such as four-handed dentistry and x-ray imaging to facilitate efficient treatment delivery.
-Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
-Maintain detailed and accurate medical records using Open Dental, ensuring compliance with -HIPAA regulations.
-Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including dental coding when applicable.
-Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care and treatment planning.
Skills
-Proficiency with Open Dental for scheduling, documentation, and record management.
-Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and ADA techniques.
-Experience in pediatric dentistry, including pediatrics-specific patient care approaches.
-Skilled in chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures, including vital signs measurement and medical imaging.
-Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
-Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
-Knowledge of coding processes relevant to dental practice operations.
-Experience working within dental office or clinic environments, demonstrating excellent -organizational skills and attention to detail.
