Job Title: Dental Assistant – General & Pediatric Dentistry
Position Type: Temp-to-perm. Part-time – 2 days/week. Possibility to transition to full-time. To begin mid-April 2026.

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and experienced Dental Assistant to join our growing general and pediatric dental office. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and families while delivering high-quality clinical support in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The person who fulfills this role will work mostly with one of the two doctors (the pediatric dentist or the general dentist), but on select days will assist the other of the two doctors when support is needed.

Responsibilities:
-Chairside assisting for both general dentistry and pediatric dentistry procedures
-Perform coronal polishing in accordance with certification and state guidelines
-Prepare treatment rooms and instruments, including proper sterilization and infection control
-Assist with sealants, restorations, extractions, and pediatric behavior management techniques
-Take and process digital radiographs
-Support dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry
-Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-operative instructions
-Maintain accurate clinical notes in the patient chart
-Help create a calm, welcoming, and positive experience for pediatric patients and their families
-Assist with operatory turnover and daily clinical flow

Required Qualifications
-Active Dental Assistant experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry
-Coronal polishing certification – required
-Strong communication skills and a warm, child-friendly demeanor
-Ability to work efficiently in a team-based clinical environment
-Proficient in spoken English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Nitrous oxide monitoring/assisting certification – preferred
-Experience working with young children and special-needs patients
-Familiarity with digital radiography and modern dental software

-We care about our dental assistants. We typically only use traditional wall-mounted xray units to take xrays, so that we can maximally protect our dental assistants from xray radiation. We only use a handheld xray unit when pediatric patient cooperation becomes too challenging for using the usual wall-mounted xray units.
