Exciting, fun, and well-established dental practice in Austin is seeking and experienced full-time dental assistant to join our team. We are one of the premier dental practices in Austin, performing all aspects of dentistry. The owner, Dr. Miller helps to keep the office fun and exciting with various staff trips, great culture and solid work environment. The assistant is expected to work 4 days a week, but needs to be a little flexible with work hours.
Duties:
-Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort
-Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to strict infection prevention management protocols
-Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
-Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring complete medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
-Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical histories, taking vital signs, and providing pre- and post-treatment instructions
-Maintain clinical cleanliness by following dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards
-Assist with dental instrument processing, dental equipment setup, and ensuring all clinical areas are organized for efficient operations
Skills:
-Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting
-Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures
-Experience with dental x-ray technology, medical imaging, and the operation of dental equipment such as a 3D scanner
-Familiarity with patient management software like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for scheduling and record keeping
-Expertise in healthcare infection prevention and control policies to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
-Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry patients
-Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices related to dental procedures
