Dental Assistant
LOCATION
New York, NYBright Healthy Smiles is seeking a friendly, reliable, and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing pediatric dental team. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about creating positive dental experiences for families.
Key Responsibilities
Assist pediatric dentists during clinical procedures
Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper sterilization and infection control
Take digital X-rays and intraoral images (as permitted by NY regulations)
Support behavior management techniques to help children feel comfortable
Educate parents and patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Assist with room turnover and daily clinical flow
Provide chairside support while delivering a warm, kid-friendly experience
Qualifications
Previous dental assisting experience required; pediatric experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and infection control standards
X-ray certification preferred (per NYS requirements)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, energetic, and comfortable working with children of all ages
Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment
