Patient Care Coordinator for Periodontal & Implant Practice
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Scheduling Coordinator to join our periodontal and implant practice. This role is vital in ensuring seamless patient flow, optimizing the doctor’s schedule, and delivering a positive patient experience. The Scheduling Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for patients regarding appointments and collaborates closely with the clinical and administrative teams.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Scheduling & Communication
* Manage daily and future appointment scheduling for consultations, periodontal treatments, implant surgeries, and follow-up visits.
* Confirm, reschedule, and optimize appointments to maximize productivity while minimizing gaps in the schedule.
* Provide patients with pre- and post-operative instructions, ensuring clarity and confidence before procedures.
Front Office Support
* Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and compassionate manner.
* Greet and check in patients, maintaining a welcoming and efficient front-desk environment.
* Verify patient information, update records, and maintain accurate documentation in the practice management software.
Coordination & Efficiency
* Work closely with the clinical team to ensure accurate timing and resource allocation for complex implant and periodontal procedures.
* Anticipate scheduling needs for multi-step treatment plans and coordinate appropriately with patients.
* Monitor daily workflow to minimize delays and improve patient satisfaction.
* **Insurance & Financial Coordination (as needed)**
* Assist with insurance verification related to scheduled procedures.
* Communicate with patients regarding financial obligations related to treatment scheduling, when applicable.
Qualifications
* Previous dental or medical scheduling experience strongly preferred; periodontal/implant practice experience is a plus.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and service excellence.
* Proficiency in dental practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, or similar).
* Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and manage a fast-paced schedule.
* High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
