Advanced Oral Surgery is an established oral surgery practice located in San Antonio, TX. We are seeking an experienced Oral Surgery Assistant (RDA) to join our growing team full-time, Monday-Friday. Our ideal Oral Surgery Assistant (RDA) will have 1 or more years of experience assisting in oral surgery. However, we are truly looking for the right fit for our team. If you are reliable, a self-starter and have a strong desire to learn, we are willing to consider candidates with 3+ years of experience as a Registered Dental Assistant in general dentistry.
Schedule: Monday-Friday
*Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 7:30am-5pm
*Tuesday: 7:30am-2pm
*Friday: 7:30am-1pm or 7:30am-2pm
Compensation: $18-$24/hr, plus attainable bonus opportunities

Responsibilities:
*Obtain diagnostic information through x-rays, dental impressions, and casts.
*Present treatment plans to patients and answer related questions.
*Collect proper consent forms for surgery and update patient health history.
*Inform patients of pre-op and post-op instructions.
*Set up the surgical suite according to the planned procedure.
*Attach relevant monitoring equipment in preparation for surgery.
*Record patient vital signs and document in their chart.
*Sterilize equipment and materials according to OSHA guidelines.
*Assist surgeon with general anesthesia and IV sedation procedures.
*Maintain patient's vital statistics and intravenous fluids during surgery.
*Document treatment by charting in patient's records.
*Pass surgical tools, prepare surgical dressings, and assist with suture/debris removal.
*Ensure the patient does not breathe in fluids during the procedure through constant monitoring.
*Protect the patient’s lips, cheeks, and tongue from unnecessary injury.
*Re-sterilize equipment and return it to its proper place.
*Help recover patients from sedation and anesthesia.
Requirements:
*Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License in TX
*Active CPR/ACLS/BLS Certification
*X-Ray Certification
*1+ years of experience as an Oral Surgery Assistant (RDA) preferred, 3+ years of general Registered *Dental Assistant experience will also be considered
*Must currently have or be willing to obtain certifications for IV placement and phlebotomy.
