Position Title: Adjunct Faculty-Dentist
Permanent part-time
Current Openings:
-Spring semesters (January-May): Tuesdays and Thursdays 8am -5 pm; available to sub on
Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays (8 am-5 pm)
-Fall semesters (August-December): available to sub, Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays from 8 am-
5 pm.

Job Summary
Teach assigned classes, within the Dental Hygiene Program in the Dental Hygiene Clinic.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Additional related duties may be assigned.
1. Instruct students in the proper use of lab equipment where appropriate.
2. See that equipment and/or labs are properly maintained where appropriate.
3. Participate in assessment of student learning.
4. Maintain student records and evaluate student progress.
5. Attend required meetings (faculty, division, in-service training, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Review Health History with students identifying implications on dental hygiene care.
2. Perform dental exams to guide students to apply dental materials’ theory to patient care.
3. Assist with digital x-rays:
4. Grade students’ techniques.
5. Support student interpretation skills to identify oral pathologies/diseases.
6. Prescribe sealants and grade students’ technique in applying sealants.
7. Observe and provide feedback to certified students in the administration of local anesthetics.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Current IL DDS license or IL DDS faculty license
2. Flexibility in work schedule
3. Interest in serving a diverse student population
