Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Dental Billing & Insurance Coordinator to take full ownership of our insurance, billing, and patient financial processes. We are specifically looking for someone who is confident in insurance systems, collections, and revenue cycle management.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable discussing finances with patients while ensuring accuracy and efficiency behind the scenes.
Schedule
Monday – Thursday (Every other Friday)
Half days Monday and Friday
No nights or weekends
Position Type: Part-time or Full-time
Pay: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience)
Core Responsibilities
Verify and breakdown dental insurance benefits accurately
Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims
Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collections
Post insurance payments and patient payments accurately
Identify and resolve claim issues, denials, and outstanding balances
Present treatment plans and clearly explain financial responsibilities to patients
Collect payments and set up payment arrangements when needed
Maintain accurate and organized patient financial records in Open Dental
Communicate with insurance companies to maximize reimbursements
Work closely with the doctor and front office to optimize production and collections
Required Experience & Qualifications
Strong experience in dental billing and insurance (REQUIRED)
Proven ability to manage accounts receivable and collections
Deep understanding of PPO insurance, claim submission, and EOB interpretation
Confident discussing treatment costs and financial options with patients
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Professional communication and customer service skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with Open Dental
Familiarity with Dental Intelligence
Experience improving collections and reducing outstanding A/R
Ability to identify inefficiencies and improve billing workflows
