Douglasville Cosmetic & Implant Dental Studio is seeking an experienced, motivated, and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our established, single-doctor private practice.
Our practice provides comprehensive dental care with a strong emphasis on General Dentistry, Periodontal Therapy, Endodontic Care, Cosmetic Dentistry, and Preventive Care. Position Responsibilities
The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for providing comprehensive preventive and periodontal services while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Responsibilities include:
Perform comprehensive dental hygiene services, including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing (SRP), and appropriate periodontal therapy.
Utilize adjunctive therapies and clinical technologies as appropriate to patient needs.
Perform thorough periodontal assessments, oral cancer screenings, and other preventive evaluations.
Obtain and document necessary periodontal charting and clinical findings.
Provide individualized patient education regarding oral hygiene, periodontal health, preventive care, and recommended treatment.
Review treatment recommendations with patients and encourage appropriate follow-through with recommended care.
Provide a comfortable, safe, and professional patient experience throughout each appointment.
Accurately document clinical findings, treatment provided, and patient recommendations in Open Dental.
Maintain accurate and complete patient records and clinical documentation.
Utilize proper infection-control procedures and maintain a clean and organized operatory.
Communicate effectively with the doctor and dental team regarding patient needs, clinical findings, and recommended treatment.
Assist with maintaining an effective hygiene recall system and scheduling patients for recommended preventive care.
Support the overall productivity and efficiency of the hygiene department while maintaining a strong focus on quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
Current and valid Dental Hygiene License.
Minimum of 5 years of dental experience preferred.
Strong clinical knowledge and experience in preventive and periodontal therapy.
Proficiency with Air Polishing, Cavitron, and ultrasonic scaling.
Experience with chlorhexidine therapy and pit-and-fissure sealants.
Current CPR certification.
Strong understanding of periodontal disease and appropriate treatment recommendations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong patient education and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a dental team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate clinical documentation.
Professional, dependable, and patient-centered approach to care.
Experience with Open Dental is preferred.
