Compensation: $18–$21 per hour, based on experience

We are a high-performance, private dental practice where professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential. Open Dental is our primary practice-management system and is integrated into nearly every aspect of our front-office operations.
Position Overview
The Dental Front Office Coordinator serves as the first impression of our practice and a key part of the patient experience. This position is responsible for maintaining an organized, efficient, and financially sound front office while ensuring every patient receives professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate service.
The ideal candidate is confident working independently, understands the dental revenue cycle, has strong insurance knowledge, and is highly proficient in Open Dental. This individual should be comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Utilize Open Dental daily for scheduling, patient records, treatment plans, insurance, billing, payments, and account management.
Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits and communicate coverage clearly to patients.
Submit, track, and follow up on dental insurance claims and outstanding requests.
Enter and maintain accurate treatment plans, estimates, financial arrangements, and patient account information.
Accurately post patient and insurance payments and reconcile account balances as needed.
Maintain complete, accurate, organized, and compliant patient records.
Manage the schedule efficiently to maximize provider productivity and minimize gaps in the schedule.
Identify opportunities to fill open appointments and maintain an active ASAP/waitlist.
Greet and check in patients while creating a warm, professional, and concierge-level experience.
Clearly explain treatment plans, insurance benefits, patient portions, and financial expectations.
Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at the time of service.
Coordinate closely with the clinical team to maintain smooth patient flow and an efficient daily schedule.
Assist patients with scheduling, rescheduling, treatment acceptance, financial questions, and general account concerns.
Maintain a professional and organized front-office environment.
Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and practice policies.
Support the overall success and growth of the practice through excellent customer service, organization, and follow-through.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
2–3+ years of dental front-office experience preferred.
Strong Open Dental experience required.
Solid understanding of dental insurance, PPO plans, eligibility, benefits, claims, deductibles, and patient portions.
Experience with dental scheduling, treatment planning, billing, and payment posting.
Strong understanding of dental terminology and common CDT procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Professional, confident, and polished demeanor.
Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with doctors and clinical and administrative team members.
