In search of Dental Assistant
LOCATION
Durham, NCJob description:
Seeking a Dental Assistant for a growing general dental practice in downtown Durham area. X-ray certification and one year of experience in a dental setting are required. You must be able to perform all the responsibilities of a dental assistant. Job Duties may include but not limited to:
Greet and seat patients and other customers in a professional manner.
Update medical history, inform doctor of any changes.
Measure and monitor Vital signs-including manual blood pressure.
Go over consent form, have patient sign after all questions are answered.
Be able to take quality diagnostic PA's, BWX, Panorex.
Select shade with patient and inform doctor for approval.
Fabricate and deliver Temporary Crowns/restorations if applicable.
Assisting with CEREC and implant is a plus. Will train the right applicant.
Take impression, pour and trim stone models.
Fabricate whitening and fluoride trays.
Oral hygiene instructions
Pre/post operative instructions for dental procedures.
Ability to make detailed note after each treatment.
Adhere to OSHA and HIPPA regulations.
Attention to detail. Excellent organization skills.
Sterilization, completing sterilization logs and testings.
Equipment maintenance.
Room setup and breakdown using proper disinfecting methods.
Complete Lab Orders. Send packaged cases to the lab.
Ability to set up all required instruments for the specific procedure.
Certifications Required:
NC Radiology Certification
Current BLS Certification-Must remain current at all times during employment
OSHA and HIPAA compliance training
Willing to train the right candidate, however 1 year of work experience in a dental practice is required.
We work 4-5 days a week, Monday through Friday. Hours are 8:00-4:00 on Mondays and 7:00 to 3:00 on remaining days, Our benefit package includes competitive salary (commensurate with experience), 401K, paid time off and paid holidays.
