Part time hygienist growing into full time later this year

Howdy! We are looking to add an 8th hygienist to our busy schedule to help meet our growing patient demand. Fort Dental has been in business for over 50 years and currently has 4 doctors and 7 hygienists. We are 100% doctor owned with a large, fee-for-service patient base. As a single location practice that was built in 2022 we have nice facilities, 14 operatories, and a very social team. We are in the process of expanding our facilities an additional 2000 sq ft with 4 more operatories.

The ideal candidate should be first and foremost a person who brings a good attitude with kindness and compassion both the their teammates and the patients. Dentistry can be a stressful job and while we can train people to the position, we can not train them to have a positive attitude. Culture is important to us and with 25 team members we need people who are easy to get along with and have a healthy perspective on life.

The position is Mondays 8-5 with the possibility to do Fridays 7-1 as well. Once we have the additional space complete we will be transitioning this position to full time based upon the schedule and desire of the hygienist. We expect you be ready for recalls and prepared for morning huddle before 8am. We would also ask that you either be comfortable using digital xrays, a CBCT, an iTero digital scanner or at least be open and willing to learn use of them.

Many of our patients have been with us for 30+ years and the human touch we try to bring to our field is important. You will be patient facing basically all day so appearing professional is imperative. With these types of relationships its important to get to know people. We're part of the community we live and as a representative of the practice you would be expected to treat patients with the kindness and grace expected of the doctors.

Duties

Be on time to work and with your schedule. We do 1 hr hygiene appointments and staying on schedule helps us create a great patient experience.
Offer high quality prophies while building relationships.
Partake in new patient exams (this may require training with us)
Be a team player. We can train you to work in our system but we can't train someone to have a good attitude.
Take digital bitewings, perio chart, CBCT and any other records required.

Qualifications

Previous experience as at a private practice is preferred but not required. We're more interested in hiring the right person than the most experienced.
Familiarity with Dentrix or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate with kindness and friendliness to patients.
Excellent etiquette and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $49.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8-14 per week starting. 32+ once we expand to full time.
