Full-Time Private Practice Hygienist needed!

We are a private, fee-for-service dental practice is seeking a full-time registered dental hygienist who is committed to exceptional patient care, patient education, and a high standard of professionalism. Our practice limited to Periodontics has been in South Austin for more than 20 years and has built a strong, established hygiene pool and referral base. The practice recently relocated to a brand-new, thoughtfully designed space with plenty of natural daylight in the hygiene operatories.

This role is ideal for a hygienist who values thorough periodontal care and a patient-centered approach to long-term oral health. There is no pressure to “produce” as a hygienist and no time constraints for scaling and root planing cases. The emphasis is on careful treatment, clear communication, and helping patients improve and maintain their periodontal health.

We are open M-Th, 7:30-4 PM. The schedule is single column with 60 minutes for periodontal maintenance visits and at least 90 minutes for half-mouth SRP. Lunch is an hour.

The office uses Cavitron and piezo units, the PWR air polishing system, digital radiographs, DEXIS, intraoral photography, TRIOS IO scanner system, and other modern clinical tools to support efficient, high-quality care. The practice also holds a local study club affiliated with the Seattle Study Club which provides built-in opportunities for continuing education and professional growth.

Responsibilities include performing periodontal maintenance, FMDs, scaling and root planing, dental charting, and acquisition of intraoral radiographs. Our RDHs also schedule chairside for next visits as well as template communications letters for our referring offices. You must also be comfortable with hand scaling and sharpening of hand instruments. Since we are a periodontics practice, hygienists must also be well-versed in maintenance around implants and the identification of peri-implant issues.

Applicants need to have a license in good standing with nitrous monitoring privileges, have their CPR certification, and have preferably 2 or more years of experience in private practice.

Compensation is $55–$65 per hour, with benefits including embroidered uniforms, medical insurance, PTO, and a 401(k). This is not to mention a world-class friendly, welcoming, helpful staff!
