Position Overview:
The Dental Patient Coordinator is a key member of our team who will be responsible for providing excellent patient service and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the practice. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a compassionate and team-oriented office culture. You will be responsible for greeting patients, verifying insurance, managing patient scheduling, assisting with treatment planning, and handling patient finances, all while creating a positive experience from check-in to check-out. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Check-in/Check-out: Greet patients warmly, ensure smooth check-in and check-out process, and address any questions or concerns.
Insurance Verification: Verify and update patient insurance information, confirm coverage, and communicate details to patients in a clear and helpful manner.
Treatment Planning: Assist the dentist in presenting and explaining treatment plans to patients, including the costs and insurance coverage.
Patient Financing: Help patients understand and apply for financing options, answer any questions related to billing, and assist with payment arrangements.
Scheduling: Manage patient scheduling and appointment reminders, ensuring optimal flow of the office schedule.
Phone & Verbal Communication: Handle inbound and outbound calls, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service. Bilingual skills (Spanish) are essential for communicating with our diverse patient base.
Administrative Support: Maintain accurate patient records, handle correspondence, and ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dentist and clinical staff to ensure a seamless patient experience and contribute to a positive office culture.
Qualifications:
Previous Dental Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in a dental practice or similar healthcare setting.
Bilingual (Spanish): Fluent in Spanish, both written and verbal, to assist our diverse patient population.
Patient Care Focus: Strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care and service.
Communication Skills: Excellent phone etiquette, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
Insurance & Billing Knowledge: Experience with dental insurance verification, treatment planning, and patient financing options.
Technology Proficient: Comfortable using dental software, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Positive Attitude: A team player with a positive, can-do attitude who enjoys working with others to create a supportive and patient-focused environment.
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
One Friday per month (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Rate: $25-$28/hour, depending on experience
