We believe that a great dental practice is built on a great team. We value people who are Committed, have Integrity, take Responsibility, are Proactive, Empathetic, and Enthusiastic.
We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Front Desk Team Member who enjoys working with people and wants to be part of a collaborative, high-performing dental team.
About the Position
As a Front Desk Team Member, you will be one of the first and last people our patients interact with.
You will play an important role in creating an outstanding patient experience while helping the front office operate efficiently.
You will primarily support the front desk but will also be cross-trained in scheduling, financial, and insurance functions. You will have the opportunity to learn multiple areas of the practice and become a valuable, versatile member of our team.
You will not be expected to manage or be accountable for these departments. Instead, you will support the appropriate Coordinator or Team Leader when additional assistance is needed.
What You’ll Do
• Welcome patients with a warm, professional attitude.
• Check patients in and out.
• Answer phones and assist patients with questions.
• Schedule and reschedule routine appointments.
• Assist with appointment confirmations, reminders, recall, and reactivation.
• Help keep the schedule organized and productive.
• Collect patient payments and provide receipts.
• Assist with basic patient account questions.
• Gather and update patient insurance and demographic information.
• Assist with basic insurance-related administrative tasks.
• Help patients complete forms and paperwork.
• Communicate patient questions and concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Maintain accurate patient information and documentation.
• Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA requirements.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
• Support other members of the front-office team during busy periods.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and continuing education.
• Look for ways to improve the patient experience and office efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit if you are:
• Friendly, personable, and genuinely enjoy helping people.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Comfortable multitasking in a busy environment.
• A strong communicator who can communicate professionally with patients and coworkers.
• Positive, energetic, and team-oriented.
• Comfortable learning new technology and software.
• Able to follow established procedures while knowing when to ask for help.
• Proactive—you see what needs to be done and take action.
• Comfortable handling confidential information.
• Interested in learning different areas of dental office operations.
Dental Experience
Previous dental or medical front-desk experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
Experience in customer service, hospitality, healthcare, administrative support, or another patient-facing environment is highly valued.
Experience with Open Dental or another dental practice-management system is a plus.
We are willing to train the right person who has the attitude, work ethic, communication skills, and desire to learn.
Why Join Our Team?
We offer an opportunity to become more than just a receptionist. You will learn how a successful dental practice operates and develop skills in patient service, scheduling, dental insurance, financial communication, and practice administration.
