Our respected and reputable dental group, in the Frederick area is looking for a Part Time Hygienist. We have a beautiful modern office, a wonderful patient population, an enthusiastic team, and a sincere dentist dedicated to quality care. Key Responsibilities
• Provide dental health education about tooth care and diet
• Remove plaque and calculus by scaling and polishing teeth
• Take impressions and/or dental radiographs of teeth as required
• Apply prophylactic/antibacterial materials, fissure sealants and topical fluorides to help prevent tooth decay
• Carry out screening and monitoring procedures
• Treat and help prevent gingivitis and periodontitis
• Ensure that sterile conditions are maintained
• Clean and sterilize all equipment and working surfaces to the required standards at the end of each session
• Maintain patient dental records; update all medical records as necessary in the Dentrix system
• Follow Health & Safety guidelines in all aspects including when taking x-rays, disposing of sharp and clinical waste, resuscitation, emergency procedures and be CPR certified.
• Offer advice and encouragement to patients
• Follow all practice policies and procedures
Knowledge and Skills
• Registered Dental Hygienist (Required)
• Local Anesthesia (Required)
• Knowledge of Dentrix (Preferred)
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office Programs
• Strong Interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Professional manner and appearance at all times

Qualifications
• High school diploma
• Registered Dental Hygienist with at least 2 years’ experience (Preferred)
• X-Ray certified in Maryland (Required)

Dr. Frederick Asuncion, dentistry is the perfect mix of artistry and science. He loves making a powerful impact on patients’ lives every day, and he strives to create a comfortable environment where everyone can feel confident and happy. He cherishes the relationships he has built over time with the patients he serves, and he looks forward to forming a strong bond with each new patient and their loved ones.

Dr. Asuncion has been practicing general dentistry for over 30 years. He is a Graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School where he also held the position of Chief Resident in the Advanced General Dentistry residency program. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from the University of Maryland Medical School. He established his own practice in 1994. In 2005, he merged his practice with Dr. Robert Broadrup, who retired after a long-distinguished career in dentistry. Dr. Broadrup’s service to the community was legendary, and Dr. Asuncion was deeply honored to be entrusted with the continuing care of Dr. Broadrup’s patients. He moved into the current office in 2007. When designing this new space Dr. Asuncion wanted a calm and relaxing atmosphere while making his patients feel like VIP’s the moment they enter the front door.

He has spent the last three decades staying at the forefront of dental practices through his commitment to continuing education. He prides himself in being able to bring the latest advances in patient care and technology to his Frederick office. He was an early adopter of CEREC which offers his patients the convenience of getting a same day crown. He is a SureSmile® certified dentist providing a modern alternative to conventional orthodontic appliances, such as braces. Most recently he introduced guided implant surgery, a modern way of delivering implants and a real game-changer due to its higher accuracy and lower risk of complications after surgery.

Dr. Asuncion has been honored by the trust and confidence of his fellow dental professionals who have called upon him to serve in various roles in local and state professional dental organizations. He is a past President of the Frederick County Dental Society and also chaired its Peer Review Committee. He has served as a trustee and a delegate to the Maryland State Dental Association. In addition to caring for his own patients, he also volunteers for the Mission of Mercy, a mobile health service based in Frederick, and works with Donated Dental Services for the disabled in Maryland.

Dr. Asuncion is a member of the American Dental Association and the Maryland State Dental Association. Originally from the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC, Dr. Asuncion now lives in Frederick. A lifelong Terrapin, he likes nothing more than rooting for his beloved alma mater and other local sports teams. His love of travel feeds his passion for learning and the outdoors, however he has yet to find another getaway place that quite compares to Hawaii.
