Position Summary
The Lead Registered Dental Assistant plays a vital role in supporting doctors, leading back-office operations, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care. This position serves as a clinical leader and mentor for the dental assisting team while helping maintain efficiency, organization, and compliance throughout the practice.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, patient-focused, and capable of leading by example while fostering a positive and accountable team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Assist doctors chairside during a variety of dental procedures
Ensure efficient patient flow and treatment room readiness
Take and process diagnostic radiographs
Accurately document treatment plans, charting, and clinical notes
Monitor and manage laboratory cases
Oversee inventory levels and assist with ordering clinical supplies
Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and office protocols
Support back-office organization, efficiency, and accountability
Assist with onboarding and training new dental assistants
Mentor and coach team members to support clinical excellence and professional growth
Serve as a resource and leader for the assisting team
Partner with doctors and leadership to improve workflows and patient experiences
Help maintain a positive, professional, and patient-centered culture
Qualifications Required
Current Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License
Current Dental Radiology Certification
Current BLS/CPR Certification
Minimum two (2) years of dental assisting experience
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Excellent patient care and customer service abilities
Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
Preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Dentrix Ascend experience
Previous Lead RDA, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience
