Dental Billing - Remote

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Dental Biller to join our team and take charge of insurance billing, collections, and account clean-up. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Open Dental software, knowledgeable about Texas Medicaid and commercial PPO insurance plans, and capable of identifying and resolving aging claims and outstanding balances. This role includes both reviewing past-due accounts and ensuring accurate, timely billing for ongoing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Review and clean up existing patient accounts and aging reports.

Submit and track insurance claims through Open Dental for both Medicaid and PPO plans.

Verify insurance eligibility, coverage, and benefits before treatment.

Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resubmit as needed.

Post insurance payments and adjustments accurately.

Prepare detailed reports on collections, outstanding claims, and revenue performance.

Work closely with the front office and clinical team to ensure proper coding and documentation.

Communicate professionally with insurance companies and patients regarding balances and coverage.

Stay updated on Texas Medicaid billing rules, CDT codes, and insurance policies.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of dental billing experience (Open Dental required).

Strong understanding of Texas Medicaid, DentaQuest, MCNA, and major PPO insurance plans.

Experience with electronic claims, attachments, and narratives.

Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of CDT codes, claim submission portals, and payer-specific rules.

Experience with aged account recovery and AR reconciliation.

Familiarity with dental office workflows and production/collection reporting.
