At our specialty dental practice focusing on periodontics, we are seeking an experienced part-time Dental Hygienist to join our close-knit and dedicated team. Our practice, originally founded in 1985 and with a strong commitment to patient care, emphasizes the importance of maintaining the periodontium—the essential structures that support teeth. Our diverse team of three skilled periodontists collaborates closely with our hygienists to provide comprehensive care, including advanced procedures to maintain and enhance oral health.

As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional care to our patients of all ages, from children to seniors. Your responsibilities will include performing prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and localized delivery of antibiotic therapy, among other tasks. You will be proficient in using state-of-the-art technology, including ultrasonic scaling and digital radiography, ensuring our patients receive the best possible treatment.

Ideal candidates must possess a valid local anesthesia license and have at least one year of dental hygiene experience. Your daily interaction with patients will hinge on your ability to educate them about oral hygiene and periodontal health, while providing a comforting and professional atmosphere. You'll have the opportunity to spend quality time with each patient, enhancing their experience and ensuring comprehensive treatment.

You will enjoy a one-hour lunch break daily in a spacious office equipped with six operatories. Hudson Valley Periodontics & Implantology is dental specialty practice located in Bardonia, NY (Nanuet, NY) that was originally founded by Dr. Kenneth Small in 1985 and then Dr. Sid Tucker joined the practice in 2001. Dr. Tucker become the sole owner of the practice in 2016 when Dr. Small officially retired from the practice. Our practice's primary focus is the periodontium, which are the supporting structures of the teeth, and include the gingiva, the alveolar bone and the periodontal ligament. Some of the procedures we perform in our practice include: dental hygiene and maintenance, scaling and root planing as well as osseous surgery all with the goal of maintaining the gingiva and the bone that support the teeth. We also perform several cosmetic procedures such as crown lengthening to correct "gummy" smiles as well as gum grafting procedures to cover teeth which have large areas of recession leaving root surfaces exposed. In addition to these procedures the majority of the procedures performed in our office include dental extractions and subsequent bone grafting of the sockets to maintain the alveolar bone and of course the placement of dental implants to replace any missing teeth. We have a fairly large office with 6 operatories, with the possibility of a seventh in the near future. We currently have 3 periodontists working in the practice including Dr. Sid Tucker, Dr. Raphael Csillag and Dr. Serena Shah. In addition to the doctors we have 1 full time hygienist, 2 dental assistants, a front desk administrator and our office manager, Mrs. Kristi Tranter. We treat patients of all ages, ranging from children as young as 6 to our patients as old as 100 years of age. We have a close knit staff which has been working together for a number of years and who all love working at Hudson Valley Periodontics & Implantology.
