Endodontic Dental Assistant

Office Location: Midtown, Atlanta
Office Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM (and by appointment until 2:00 PM)

Compensation: Experience-based Salary

Position Summary:
The Endodontic Dental Assistant supports the delivery of dental care by preparing treatment rooms, assisting with patient care, taking radiographs, sterilizing instruments, and managing materials and inventory. The assistant will participate in the full range of endodontic procedures, including root canal treatment, retreatment, and apicoectomy surgery, in compliance with the Georgia Dental Practice Act.

Responsibilities:
Prepare treatment rooms according to established procedures and protocols
Welcome, seat, and drape patients for dental treatment
Provide information to patients and staff by answering questions and requests
Provide chairside assistance, including instrument sterilization and delivery, instrument positioning and passing, and suctioning
Place and manage rubber dam isolation
Expose diagnostic radiographs and information
Assist the dentist during dental and medical emergencies, maintaining current CPR certification and knowledge of emergency drug and oxygen supplies
Provide post-operative instructions to patients
Document treatment in patient records/charts
Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols by maintaining a safe, clean working environment
Perform preventive maintenance on dental equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, arrange repairs, and maintain equipment and supply inventories
Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed
No lab work is required

Requirements:
Prior endodontic assisting experience
Rubber dam placement experience
General dental assisting experience
Current CPR certification
Reliable transportation to work
