Duties
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is ready for procedures.
• Assist dentists and hygienist during various treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
• Manage patient records efficiently using Open Dental ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to promote safety and well-being.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients, and managing medical documentation and coding.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control standards to uphold the highest levels of safety within the dental clinic environment.
Skills
• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and applying infection control practices.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
• Experience with Open Dental or similar software.
• Ability to operate dental equipment like 3D scanners and perform medical imaging accurately.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
