We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing office.
The ideal candidate must have at least 1 to 3 years of Pediatric Dental Asisiting experice as he/she will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to children, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for our young patients.
This position requires a strong understanding of pediatric dental procedures, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment; some responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by preparing the necessary instruments and materials.
• Ensure that all equipment is properly sterilized and maintained according to infection control protocols.
• Taking dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Educate patients and their families on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
• Maintain accurate medical records, including patient history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
• Utilize dental software such as Open Dental for record keeping and appointment management.
• Monitor vital signs of patients as necessary during procedures.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and knowledge:
• Nitrous and Sealant Certification (REQUIRED)
• Experience with coronal polishing (REQUIRED)
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Basic knowledge of human anatomy related to dental health.
• Proficiency in infection control measures within a clinical setting.
• Previous experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus but not mandatory
