Position Overview
The Treatment Coordinator plays a critical role in patient experience, case acceptance, and practice efficiency. This position bridges clinical recommendations with patient understanding by clearly explaining treatment plans, financial options, and next steps—ensuring every patient leaves with clarity and confidence. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and explain treatment plans in detail
• Present multiple treatment options, including benefits, risks, and alternatives
• Use visual aids and technology to support patient understanding
• Calculate treatment costs and provide clear financial estimates
• Prepare and explain financial arrangements (CareCredit, HFD, Savings Plan)
• Explain consequences of delaying or declining treatment
• Convert treatment plans into scheduled appointments
• Follow up with patients who have not scheduled recommended treatment
• Handle pre-authorizations and notify biller as needed
• Greet patients and answer incoming calls
• Ensure patient information is accurate and up to date (insurance, contact info, medical history, consent forms)
• Update medical histories, medications, and pre-medications
• Schedule patients before they leave the office
• Request patient reviews prior to checkout
• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation in Open Dental (CommLog, treatment notes, scanned documents)
Qualifications
• 1–2 years of experience as a Treatment Coordinator
• Confident presenting treatment plans and financial options
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
Hourly Pay
• $25 to $32/hour (based on experience)
Schedule
• Monday to Friday 8:45am to 5:30pm
