Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly experienced Dental Receptionist with a strong personality to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive dental experience, including proficiency in Dentrix, and will play a crucial role in managing our dental practice effectively. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, a commanding presence, and the ability to ensure smooth operations while providing outstanding patient service.
Please note: We are looking for candidates who have substantial experience and qualifications in dental administration—prior experience filing claims, managing dental insurance, and working with dental billing is essential. We are not accepting applications from those without this background, as we need someone ready to hit the ground running.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations efficiently.
Schedule appointments and oversee the dental office calendar.
Verify insurance information and perform insurance verification for patients.
Handle medical billing and coding, including CPT and ICD-10 coding.
Maintain accurate patient records and review documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist with medical collections as necessary.
Utilize EHR systems such as Dentrix or Open Dental.
Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing multi-line phone systems.
Respond to patient inquiries with excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
File claims accurately and efficiently, managing dental insurance processes.
Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery.
Manage the overall workflow of the practice with confidence and authority.
Skills
Extensive dental experience, with a proven track record in dental practice management.
Proficient in Dentrix EHR system.
Strong understanding of filing claims, dental insurance procedures, and billing.
Experience with dental insurance verification and claims submission.
Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, Medicare processes, and medical billing practices.
Excellent knowledge of dental and medical terminology.
Bilingual skills are a plus for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is highly desirable.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
A confident, assertive personality capable of managing a busy dental practice effectively.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Experience in medical administrative support or front desk operations is essential.
