We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Bilingual Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleanings, assessments, and education in both English and Spanish. Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations.
Take and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options in both English and Spanish.
Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems Open Dental), ensuring accurate documentation of patient care and medical records.
Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical information securely.
Prepare treatment rooms with dental equipment, sterilize instruments, and ensure infection prevention measures are followed diligently.
Support patient care through effective communication, documentation review, and assisting with medical coding when necessary.
Skills
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish with excellent client communication skills.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Experience with dental software system Open Dental for managing electronic health records.
Proficiency in dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging, and chairside assisting procedures.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care tailored for children (pediatrics).
Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, patient assessment, and documentation review.
Knowledge of general dentistry procedures, dental equipment operation, and medical coding processes.
Commitment to HIPAA compliance management by maintaining confidentiality of all patient information.
