POSITION OVERVIEW
As a General Dentist, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating a wide range of dental conditions, performing routine dental procedures such as cleanings, fillings, and extractions, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices. Additionally, you will collaborate with other dental professionals to develop treatment plans tailored to each patient's individual needs. With your expertise and compassionate care, you will help improve the oral health and overall well-being of our patients.

Adherence to all organizational expectations, including but not limited to customer service, patient rights, confidentiality, and environmental care, is paramount.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Advises and instructs patients regarding preventive dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems, and oral health care services
Examines teeth, gums and related tissue using dental instruments, x-rays, and other diagnostic equipment.
Formulate plan of treatment for patient's teeth and mouth tissue.
Carries out clinical treatments, such as treating gum disease, restoring teeth affected by injuries, malformations or decay, and other services as needed.
Administer anesthetics to limit the amount of pain experienced by patients during procedures.
Design, make, and fit prosthodontic appliances such as space maintainers, bridges, and dentures, or write fabrication instructions or prescriptions for denturists and dental technicians.
Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, gums and related oral structures, and provide preventive and corrective services.
Write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications.
Maintains patients' dental records.
Completes continuing education courses as required by state licensing standards.
Ensures productivity standards are met.
Completes all documentation and coding as required for patient care and data collection purposes.
Participates in TDB “Chart Audit” program and provides an objective assessment of peers
Completes and signs off on all end day forms as per company protocols.
Performs related duties as required, including assuming full or partial responsibility for major projects and initiatives designed to support Texas Dental and Braces mission.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY (IF APPLICABLE)
The incumbent in this position has no formal supervisory responsibility. However, while in the clinic, they are expected to provide thoughtful leadership relative to dental services throughout the organization. This may include providing supervision and consultation to mid-levels, interns, students and volunteers as assigned.
COMPENSATION
$250,000 - $450,000 per year

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
State licensure to practice dentistry
Must carry Professional Dentist Liability insurance.
Minimum of 2 years experience practicing as a Dentist in a clinical setting.
Additional experience, certifications, or licensing may be required.
Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications.
Willingness to comply with all local, state, and federal healthcare regulations and preventative measures (HIPAA confidentiality, infection spread, etc.)
Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and interdisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience mentoring dental residents, fellows, or junior colleagues.
Commitment to continuing education and professional development to maintain clinical competency and stay current with emerging trends in oral surgery.
Dedication to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care with a focus on achieving optimal treatment outcomes.
Comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, tools, and diagnostics.
Knowledge of business and management principles.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is performed largely in a community clinic environment. There could be risk of exposure to various workplace hazards associated with oral healthcare professionals. These hazards include, but are not limited to, exposure to bloodborne pathogens, pharmaceuticals, chemical agents, ergonomic challenges, noise, and vibrations.
