The Clerk department requires individuals with exceptional customer service. Must be flexible as daily duties are subject to change. Office setting with constant communication via phone calls, emails and in person with dental students, faculty dentists, staff and patients of the dental school. Strong computer and organizational skills are a must. This position works in a learning environment and supports faculty and staff and students. The school provides student education and dental care for the Kansas City community. You will work with many divisions and departments throughout the dental school. The position provides general /routine admin responsibilities.
Areas of work:
Team Clinics:
- Call and schedule appointments with patients for dental students
- Keep faculty chairs scheduled with students
- Take payment for treatment rendered
- Maintain team bank recalls by scheduling
- Keeping a Query for monthly recall (endo and denture) – Send reminder letters to patients
- Other duties as assigned.
Oral Surgery:
- Call and schedule appointments for students and the residents
- Maintain schedule for rotation students
- Check in patients
- Take payment
- Keep track of medical consults and referrals
- Maintain the schedule for the Oral Surgery clinic
- Other duties as assigned
Pediatric Dentistry:
- Schedule appointments for students
- Check in patients
- Take payment
- Work with school nurses to aid in LOWRY clinic
- Other duties as assigned
Front Desk:
- Check in patients
- Help patients navigate self-check in
- Other duties as assigned
Records Room:
- Release records to patients upon request
- Add outside records such as x-rays to patient charts
- Scan medical consults, referrals, other documents as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in the dental field is preferred.
Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $17.50 - $18.25 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
