The Dispensary team is responsible for dispensing and receiving supplies and equipment for dental and hygiene student and faculty in the Dental Clinic. The team also ensures that all supplies and equipment are clean and sterile before being used for patient care.
The school of Dentistry is looking for a reliable and self-motivated clinical Technician II to work both independently and in a team environment as part of our Dental Clinic dispensary Team.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential in all aspects of the position. It is critical that the person in the job understands the importance of infection control procedures and following procedures and policies, recognizes names and uses of dental equipment t and complies with OSHA, Hazmat, and UMKC guidelines.
Job Duties:
- Dispense and receive supplies and equipment for dental students, dental hygiene students and faculty
- Ensure that dental equipment and supplies that are returned are properly sterilized, disinfected, disposed and restocked following patient treatment
- Restocking of disposable materials in dispensary work area, clinic floor lab and student carts
- Maintain cleanliness of dispensary work area and surfaces
- Periodic laundry of blankets and faculty clinic coats
- Periodic cleaning and basic maintenance checks on a variety of equipment
- Assist with student trail boards and clinical licensing exam as needed
- Maintain and monitor inventory needs in dispensary work area
- Remain current on required UMKC training (including management of lab safety and handling hazardous materials)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year of experience is necessary from a comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired
Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
