What You’ll Do
As a key member of our team, you will help support smooth, efficient, and comfortable patient care by:
Prepare patients and treatment rooms for oral surgery procedures
Assist the oral surgeon chairside during extractions, implant placements, bone grafting, IV sedation procedures, and other surgical treatments
Take diagnostic records, including digital X-rays, CBCT scans, intraoral photos, and impressions or scans
Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative instructions, oral hygiene, and recovery expectations
Monitor and document patient information and treatment details in the dental software system
Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, organized surgical environment
Support scheduling efficiency by monitoring patient flow and confirming upcoming appointments
Communicate effectively with the oral surgeon, front office, and other team members
Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and sedation safety protocols
Provide exceptional service and reinforce Squire Dental’s patient-first philosophy
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a dental assisting program or relevant oral surgery assistant training
Current CPR/BLS certification
State-specific dental assistant certification (as applicable)
Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
Preferred:
Proficiency in dental software systems (Denticon)
1+ years of experience as an oral surgery assistant
Experience assisting with IV sedation and surgical procedures
