Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral health status.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort.
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Follow strict HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting.
Proficiency with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices if working with children or adolescents.
Ability to perform chairside assisting duties seamlessly during patient care sessions.
Experience in medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management is advantageous.
