Dental Hygienist: Part Time Mondays 9AM-5PM

A patient-centered general dental practice is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join a collaborative, supportive clinical team on part time basis on Mondays from 9AM-5PM. This role is ideal for a professional who values high-quality preventive care, patient education, and a calm, respectful environment where one patient is treated at a time. The practice emphasizes long-term oral health through personalized treatment planning, clear communication, and strong relationships with individuals and families.

The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical knowledge and a thoughtful, gentle approach to care. Responsibilities include performing dental prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, and comprehensive hygiene assessments, as well as taking and reviewing radiographs, documenting findings, and contributing to individualized oral health plans. The hygienist will also provide thorough oral hygiene instruction, explain findings in an approachable manner, and support patients in understanding disease prevention, home care, and follow-up recommendations.

Additional duties include periodontal treatment, calculus removal, ultrasonic scaling, gingivitis screening, oral cancer screening, antimicrobial placement, and irrigation agent use as appropriate. Experience with air polishing, Arestin therapy, Cetacaine, Oraqix, and nitrous oxide monitoring is preferred. The hygienist will also maintain accurate patient records, uphold infection control protocols, and work efficiently with the dental team in a fully digital and paperless setting.

This opportunity requires a current New York RDH license, with 2 years of experience preferred. Prior experience in a general or family dental practice is an asset, though the practice is willing to train the right professional. Strong communication skills, reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to connect with patients of all ages are essential. The schedule includes a 1-hour lunch break and provides access to appropriate PPE, including disposable gowns, face shields, goggles, latex gloves, nitrile gloves, N95 masks, and regular masks. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
