We are seeking a skilled, compassionate dental hygienist to join our established, full-time team in a long-standing private general dentistry practice. This opening is available as a result of the retirement of a valued hygienist who served the practice for over 30 years. Our office has been a trusted part of the community for 40 years and is known for its warm, home-like atmosphere, collaborative culture, and commitment to exceptional patient care.
This is a single-doctor practice that treats both children and adults, with a strong focus on comprehensive preventive care and patient education. Our approach combines time-tested personal attention with advanced technology, including digital x-rays, 3D cone beam imaging, individual computers in each operatory, and cordless prophy angles. We also offer care for patients with TMJ dysfunction and provide full mouth reconstruction when needed, allowing our patients to benefit from a thoughtful, specialized style of dentistry.
The ideal candidate will bring strong basic hygiene skills and a patient-centered approach. Responsibilities include calculus removal, cavitron use, prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, periodontal and gingivitis screening and treatment, fluoride treatment, oral cancer and pathology screening, oral hygiene instruction, patient education, dental charting, patient records, vital signs monitoring, and sterile procedures. Experience with local anesthesia, pediatric hygiene, and restorative procedures is highly valued. Familiarity with Eaglesoft, DEXIS, Gendex, KaVo, NOMAD Pro, digital x-rays, and lasers is a plus.
Our schedule is organized to support quality care and efficiency, with one patient seen at a time. Appointments are typically 1 hour for preventive maintenance and 2 hours for 2-quadrant SRP. The day includes a 1-hour lunch break from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Parking is available behind the building.
We provide a well-equipped, safety-conscious work environment with disposable gowns, goggles, latex and nitrile gloves, masks, utility gloves, cassettes for instruments, safety glasses, scrubs, lab jackets, and hand sanitizer.
We offer health insurance, in-office dental benefits, paid vacation, paid sick leave, and a 401(k) for full-time employees after the probationary period. Restorative responsibilities are compensated at a higher rate. Pay starts at $58+/hour DOE.
We are a small, family-like team with a combined 49 years of staff tenure, and we value supporting one another every day.
