Orthodontic Dental Assistant
LOCATION
Rockville Centre, NYJoin Our Smile Team! đ Are you passionate about creating confident smiles and providing top-notch patient care? Our busy orthodontic practice in Rockville Centre, NY is looking for a friendly, skilled Dental / Orthodontic Laboratory Assistant to join our team!
Clinical Duties:
Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies and equipment
Preparation of dental materials and appointment procedural setups
Assist in taking and pouring impressions & trimming models.
Maintain and clean laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Track and manage incoming and outgoing cases, ensuring deadlines are met.
Greet and seat patients
Take dental records, including x-rays, impressions, Itero digital scans, and photographs
Assist the doctor with bonding
Assist cementing bands and banded appliances
Accurately record procedures and treatment notes in patient treatment card
Provide patient instructions and communication
Dental Infection Control:
Follow the dental office infection control plan to comply with OSHA, CDC, and local standards
Clean, sterilization/disinfection, and re-circulate instruments
Disinfect treatment area and units
Practice Promotion:
Implement approaches to attract a constant flow of new patients and to maximize referrals
Maintain good relationships with referring dentists and other professionals in the community
Support friends and family of current patients who could benefit from orthodontics to make an exam appointment
What Weâre Looking For:
3+ years of orthodontic or dental assisting experience preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills
A team player with a positive attitude and gentle chairside manner
