The Insurance & Treatment Coordinator is responsible for managing dental insurance, submitting claims, presenting treatment plans, and ensuring patients understand their financial responsibilities.
Treatment coordinators explain treatment plans, discuss finances, and coordinate the full treatment process between patient and doctor. Insurance coordinators verify benefits, submit claims, track payments, and communicate with insurance companies. A strong understanding of dental insurance and experience with EOB interpretation will be crucial in helping our patients navigate their coverage. Your knowledge of dental terminology, codes, and procedures will allow you to communicate effectively with both patients and the rest of our dental team.
In this full-time position, you will be responsible for appointment scheduling, patient charting, and maintaining accurate patient records. A strong understanding of dental insurance and experience with EOB interpretation will be crucial in helping our patients navigate their coverage. Your knowledge of dental terminology, codes, and procedures will allow you to communicate effectively with both patients and the rest of our dental team.
Our practice utilizes Open Dental software, and familiarity with it as well as skills such as dental charting, patient education, and instrument sterilization will be beneficial.
Your Key Responsibilities include:
-Treatment Coordination (Present treatment plans to patients, explain procedures and financial responsibility, review insurance estimates, schedule treatment appointments
-Insurance Management (Verify patient insurance, submit claims, monitor outstanding claims, follow up on unpaid claims, handle insurance appeals)
-Financial Coordination (Create financial arrangements for patients, review patient balances, coordinate payment plans, collect large treatment deposits)
-Documentation (Prepare and submit insurance narratives, Upload X-Rays and supporting documentation, manage pre-authorizations)
-Accounts Receivable (track insurance payments, post insurance checks, follow up on aging insurance claims)
Skills Required:
-Strong understanding of dental insurance
-Experience w/ EOB interpretation
-Knowledge of dental codes and procedures
-Excellent communication skills
