Patient Coordinator – Dental Front Office

Position Summary
The Patient Coordinator plays a central role in ensuring seamless front office operations. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication to manage schedules, verify insurance, prepare treatment plans, and coordinate patient financial arrangements. The Patient Coordinator is the key point of contact for patients and staff, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all administrative and patient-facing tasks.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and follow up on daily patient treatment plans
• Maintain treatment plan contact lists for scheduled and unscheduled patients
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits in advance
• Manage and confirm doctor’s schedule and appointments
• Conduct financial reviews and arrange patient payment plans
• Coordinate with finance companies for treatment plans
• Answer incoming calls and provide outstanding patient service
• Schedule specialist appointments and coordinate referrals
• Follow up with patients on outstanding or pending treatments
• Prepare route slips, verify patient information, and assist with patient flow
• Process payments and manage patient financial records
• Support hygiene patient check-out and new patient paperwork
• Maintain reception area and shared office responsibilities
Qualifications
• Minimum 1-2 years of dental front office experience required
• Proficiency with Open Dental, Flex, and DoseSpot RX preferred
• Strong knowledge of insurance verification and patient financial coordination
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and follow through independently
