Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our vibrant dental team. Your expertise will support various dental procedures across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring a clean, organized environment in accordance with aseptic techniques
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging using advanced tools like 3D scanners when applicable
Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures
Provide chairside assistance with medical imaging and other diagnostic tools while maintaining proper medical documentation and records
Support infection control protocols by following strict sterilization procedures and maintaining a sterile environment
Educate patients on dental terminology, treatment plans, and post-operative care to foster understanding and comfort
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques and effective communication with the dental receptionist
Requirements
Valid license as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent certification in accordance with state or regional licensing boards
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards in healthcare settings
Experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, including working with young patients and understanding pediatric-specific protocols
Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following proper aseptic technique and radiation safety guidelines
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices for accurate documentation
Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialty areas as needed
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
