Duties
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Take and develop X-rays and utilize 3D scanners for accurate medical imaging and diagnosis.
Record vital signs, medical history, and update medical documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic.
Manage patient flow by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Educate patients on dental terminology, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to promote understanding and compliance.
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
Support general dentistry procedures by assisting with dental assisting tasks including four-handed dentistry techniques and chairside support.
Perform basic medical coding related to dental procedures for insurance billing purposes.
Ensure all clinical activities adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
Proficiency with Practice management softwares for managing patient records efficiently.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging technology including 3D scanners, and vital signs monitoring.
Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in four-handed dentistry techniques.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to effectively assist young patients.
Competence in handling administrative tasks such as dental receptionist duties and scheduling using practice management software.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
