We are a private and female owned general dental practice seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! We are currently looking to fulfill 3 to 4 days per week!

Duties

Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring thorough removal of plaque and tartar.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to tailor treatment plans effectively.
Take dental x-rays, ensuring proper technique and adherence to safety protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Open Dental, documenting all treatments and patient interactions clearly.
Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Support the dental team by managing dental terminology explanations, and assisting with general dentistry procedures as needed.
Qualifications

Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with exposure to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry environments.
Proficiency in Open Dental is a plus.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices.
Expertise in infection control management, including sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention standards.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry techniques is advantageous but not mandatory; a passion for working with children is highly valued.
